Kano State Polytechnic has officially announced the commencement of its screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into various programs for the 2024/2025 academic session. This notice serves as a guide for all prospective applicants on the details of the screening process, including eligibility, schedule, and required documents.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Kano State Polytechnic screening exercise, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Completed Application: Candidates must have applied for admission into the Polytechnic through JAMB for ND programs or directly to the Polytechnic for other programs such as HND.
- Minimum Cut-Off Mark: For ND candidates, a minimum score of 120 in the 2024 UTME is required, depending on the specific course applied for.
- O’Level Requirements: Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings in either WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.
Screening Schedule
The screening exercise is set to begin on Wednesday, 23rd October, 2024 by 1o:00am at the Academic Department, Central Administration, BUK Road, Kano.
NOTE: The exercise will continue twice weekly from 10:00am-3:00pm, on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Candidates are advised to arrive at their designated venues promptly and comply with all the stated guidelines.
Screening Process
The screening will involve the following:
- Document Verification: All applicants must present original and photocopies of their academic credentials, including their O’Level results, JAMB result slip (for ND candidates), birth certificate or declaration of age, and any other relevant documents.
- Physical Fitness Test: Some departments may require a physical fitness evaluation as part of the admission process.
- Interview: Certain programs may conduct interviews to assess the suitability of candidates.
Required Documents for the Screening
Candidates are expected to come with the following documents:
- JAMB result printout slip (for ND applicants).
- JAMB Registration Slip
- O’Level result (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB).
- Change of Institution Slip (Green Card)
- Evidence of O’level Upload on JAMB CAPS
- NIN Slip.
- Birth certificate or age declaration
- 8-4 Copies of the Screening Slip.
How to Prepare for the Screening
Candidates should ensure that they have all their documents properly arranged and cross-checked. It is advisable to make photocopies of all the documents to avoid any last-minute challenges. Additionally, candidates are encouraged to familiarize themselves with basic interview etiquette in case their program requires an interview.
Important Notes
- Latecomers will not be allowed to partake in the screening exercise.
- Any candidate caught with falsified documents will automatically be disqualified and may face legal actions.
- The screening exercise is a mandatory requirement for all prospective students, and failure to participate will lead to disqualification.
