The management of Bayelsa State College of Nursing Sciences (BYSCONS), Tombia, wishes to inform the general public that the application for its Post Basic Nursing and Post Basic Midwifery program for the 2024/2025 academic session is now open. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the BYSCONS Post Basic program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Educational Qualification: Applicants must possess at least five (5) credits in WAEC/NECO/GCE or NABTEB, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, obtained in not more than two sittings. Applicants must hold an RN or RM qualification.
  2. Professional Qualification: Candidates must be registered nurses with a valid practicing license issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  3. Age: Applicants must be at least 17 years old.
  4. Work Experience: A minimum of one year of post-qualification experience is often recommended but not mandatory.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates are to follow the steps below to apply:

Step 1: Obtain a Receipt

  • Make a payment of N20,000 to the following account:

    • Bank: Sterling Bank
  • Take the bank teller to the Bursary Department at BYSCONS and request a receipt.
  • The receipt will include a unique number for online access.

Step 2: Complete the Online Form

  • Visit the application portal.
  • Use the unique number from the receipt to access the form.
  • Fill in the form with accurate details.
  • Upload scanned copies of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB and JAMB results along with other required documents.
  • Review the completed form for accuracy before submission.
  • Submit the form online and print the acknowledgement slip.

Entrance Examination

Shortlisted candidates will be required to sit for an entrance examination;

  • Check the college website or brochure for the examination date, time, and venue.
  • Candidates are to come along with the original acknowledgement slip and a valid means of identification to the examination venue.
