Since its inception in 2014, UP, in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, has provided scholarships to high-achieving African students. In December 2023, a new phase commenced, targeting young scholars, including those with disabilities and refugees, committed to Africa’s transformation through knowledge and leadership.

  • Faculty of Law (Undergraduates: SADC, Post Graduates: All African Countries)
  • Faculty of Education
  • Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment & Information Technology (EBIT)

Application Process:

To apply for the Mastercard Scholarship at University of Pretoria, interested and qualified candidates should follow the procedures below;

  1. You will have to first apply to secure admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Pretoria.
  2. Submit your application electronically to [email protected] or deliver a printed copy to the Department for Education Innovation’s reception office

  5. Your application will undergo a review process. You will be notified of the outcome afterward.
  6. Only successful applicants will be contacted for interview.
