UNIMED Application for Inter-University Transfer, 2024/2025

 

The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, is renowned for its focus on medical education and research. As part of its commitment to academic excellence, UNIMED offers opportunities for students from other universities to transfer into its various programs through the Inter-University Transfer process. For the 2024/2025 academic session, the university has laid out specific guidelines and procedures for interested candidates.

 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Inter-University Transfer into UNIMED, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Current Enrollment: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a recognized university in Nigeria or abroad. Also, applicants must be pursuing a similar or relevant course of study to the one they wish to transfer to at UNIMED.

2. Academic Standing: Candidates must have completed at least one academic session but not more than two academic sessions in their current institution. Applicants must be in good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 on a 5.0 scale or its equivalent.

3. Accredited Programs: The program from which the candidate is transferring must be accredited by the relevant regulatory body. (e.g., the National Universities Commission for Nigerian institutions).

4. No Disciplinary Actions: The applicant must not have any pending disciplinary cases, or records of misconduct at their current institution.

5. Relevant Courses: The candidate’s previous course of study must align with the course they intend to pursue at UNIMED. In other to ensure a smooth transition into the new academic environment.

6. Transcripts: The applicant must provide official transcripts from their current institution. Detailing all courses taken, grades obtained, and academic standing.

 

Method of Application

1. Obtain the Application Form: Interested candidates must visit the official UNIMED website to download the Inter-University Transfer application form. The form is available under the “Admissions” section.

2. Fill Out the Form: The form should be carefully filled out. Provide accurate personal details, academic history, and the desired course of study at UNIMED.

3. Attach Required Documents: Applicants are required to attach the following documents to their application:
– Official academic transcripts from the current institution.
– A letter of recommendation from the Head of Department or Dean of the Faculty at the current institution.
– A personal statement explaining the reasons for seeking the transfer.
– Copies of O’ Level results (WAEC, NECO, etc.).
– Any other relevant academic or personal documents.

4. Submit the Application: The completed application form, along with all attached documents, must be submitted either in person at the UNIMED Admissions Office. Or via a designated email address provided on the university’s website.

 

Mode of Payment

1. Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of ₦15,000 is required for processing the Inter-University Transfer application.

2. Payment Method: Payment should be made online through the UNIMED payment portal. Applicants can access the portal by visiting the university’s website, navigating to the payment section, and following the instructions provided.

3. Payment Confirmation: After making the payment, applicants should ensure they obtain a payment receipt or confirmation slip. This document must be included with the application package as proof of payment.

4. Bank Payment Option: Alternatively, candidates may pay the application fee directly at designated banks using a payment reference generated from the UNIMED portal. The bank deposit slip must then be included with the application documents.
