The Tomorrow’s Leaders Program is a fully funded scholarship sponsored by the U.S. Department of State through the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). It offers undergraduate and graduate opportunities to outstanding students from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region who show leadership potential but may not have the financial means to study in an American-style university.
The program’s goal is to empower promising young people from diverse backgrounds to become future changemakers and community leaders.

Tomorrow’s Leaders partners with top U.S.-accredited universities in the MENA region, including:
- The American University of Beirut (AUB)
- The Lebanese American University (LAU)
- The American University in Cairo (AUC)
Scholarship Benefits
Selected students will receive:
- Full tuition and university fees (up to 4 years for undergraduates, 2 years for graduates)
- University health insurance
- Visa and residency permit fees
- Student housing
- Monthly living allowance during program activities
- Textbook and laptop allowance
- Two round-trip tickets per year to their home country
- Leadership, civic engagement, and career development workshops
- Internship opportunities and faculty mentorship
- A chance to study in the United States (for undergraduate students)
- Graduate or research assistantship opportunities (for graduate students)
Eligibility
To qualify for the Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship, you must:
- Be a citizen of a MENA country
- Be a current high school student or recent graduate (for undergraduate applicants)
- Have a minimum overall academic average of 80% or higher
- Demonstrate leadership potential and community involvement
- Show financial need
- Have good English language skills
- Refugees from eligible countries are also encouraged to apply
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following:
- Completed online application form
- Personal statement (500 words or a 5–6 minute video)
- Social Responsibility Essay (up to 500 words)
- Academic transcripts and certificates
- Proof of extracurricular or volunteer activities
- Financial statement form
- Two recommendation letters (sent through the application portal)
- English language test results (TOEFL, IELTS, or SAT – if selected for the next stage)
