The Korean government is inviting 2,200 international students to apply for the Global Korea Scholarship 2026 degree programs. This scholarship lets international students study at universities in Korea for their degrees.
You can apply through two ways: Embassy Track or University Track. For undergraduate programs, the duration is between 4 to 6 years, which includes 1 year for Korean language training. The Master’s program requires 1 year of Korean language plus 2 years for the degree, while the Doctoral degree takes 1 year of Korean language and 3 years for the degree. (Applications for GKS graduate programs will open in February 2026.)

Eligibility
To apply for the Global Korea Government Scholarship, you must meet these requirements:
- You need to be a citizen from one of the countries invited by NIIED.
- Your previous degree must have a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.64/4.0 or higher. Other acceptable scores are 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, or 3.23/5.
- Undergraduate applicants must be under 25 years old, and graduate applicants must be under 40 (born after September 1, 1985).
- You must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the entire program duration.
