JAMB Sets New Date for Mock Exam

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a rescheduling of the 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Originally set for Saturday, April 5, 2025, the mock exam has now been extended.

Reason for the Change

JAMB’s decision to adjust the mock exam date aims to ensure comprehensive preparations, incorporating various innovations and enhancements. The objective is to make the examination one of the best in history while accommodating an increased number of examination centers for the 2025 exercise.

In a statement, JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, emphasized the importance of aligning the mock exam with global best practices and recent research on examination methodologies in the region. He stated that the board recognizes the need for innovative measures to optimize the mock exercise’s intended purpose.

The New Date

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that the mock exam will now take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Details for Candidates

Candidates who have registered for the mock exam are advised to stay tuned for announcements regarding the printing of their Mock Notification Slips. These slips will provide specific details about the location of their examination centers.

It’s important to note that the main UTME is scheduled to commence on April 25, 2025, and the change in the mock exam date does not affect the timeline for the main examination.

Purpose of the Mock Examination

The mock UTME serves as a preparatory exercise, allowing candidates to assess their level of readiness and become familiar with the computer-based test environment. Introduced in 2017, the mock exam provides hands-on experience, especially for those not conversant with computers. It also enables JAMB to test all systems in all centers to ensure they function efficiently for the main exam.

Candidates are encouraged to take advantage of the mock examination to better prepare for the main UTME. Staying updated with JAMB’s announcements and preparing adequately will contribute to a smoother examination experience.
