The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the sale of Direct Entry (DE) application forms for the 2025 academic session. The sale of the form has been scheduled to commence on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. This initiative is designed for candidates who possess qualifications such as degrees, diplomas, or A-level certificates. and wish to gain direct admission into Nigerian universities without undergoing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Eligibility Criteria for Direct Entry Applicants
Prospective candidates must meet specific academic qualifications to be eligible for Direct Entry admission. These include:
- A minimum of five (5) O’level credit passes in subjects relevant to the desired course, obtained in not more than two sittings.
- Two passes in prescribed subjects at the A’Level Examination awarded by IJMB, Cambridge, JUPEB, or Institute of Baccalaureate, along with three other credit passes in the SSCE.
- Credit passes in two major subjects in the NCE, complemented by three other credit passes in SSCE, NTC/NBC (primarily for Education/Technical programs).
- A minimum of a credit grade in University/National Diploma or National Innovation Diploma, accompanied by the appropriate O’level requirements.
It’s important to note that only specific qualifications/certificates are accepted for the registration process, including University Degrees, University Diplomas, ND/NID, HND, NCE, and various A-Level certificates from recognized bodies.
Registration Process and Guidelines
Candidates interested in the Direct Entry admission must follow these steps:
- Obtain a Unique Mobile Phone Number: This number will be used exclusively by the candidate throughout the registration process.
- Submit National Identification Number (NIN): Candidates must text “NIN” followed by their 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 to generate a Profile Code.
- Acquire the e-PIN: With the Profile Code, candidates can purchase the e-PIN required for registration.
- Complete Registration at Accredited Centers: Present the Profile Code and e-PIN at any JAMB accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre to finalize the registration.
- Biometric and Photograph Capture: Candidates must undergo biometric verification and have their photographs taken at the registration center.
Registration can only be carried out at JAMB Professional Registration Centers (PRC) nationwide, and group registrations are not permitted.
Verification and Adherence to Entry Requirements
JAMB has emphasized the importance of submitting authentic and verifiable qualifications. A special committee will verify all submitted Advanced Level Qualifications, and any fraudulent results will lead to prosecution. Institutions are also encouraged to directly verify certificates before considering admissions.
