The University Twente Scholarship (UTS) offers a valuable opportunity for outstanding students from both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA countries who are applying for a Master’s program at the University of Twente. Scholars can receive financial support ranging from €3,000 to €22,000 for one year.
This scholarship aims to:
- Nurture students into becoming some of the most promising talent at UT.
- Provide the exclusive chance to participate in an intake for one of three honors programs: Research Honors, Design Honors, or Change Leaders.
Eligibility
To be considered for the UTS, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Submit an application and secure a letter of admission for a postgraduate Master’s degree at the University of Twente.
- Obtain a student number.
- Be either currently enrolled as an undergraduate at UT or not have graduated from UT.
- Fulfill the requirements for obtaining an entry visa to the Netherlands, if applicable.
- Meet the general English language proficiency requirements, such as achieving an Academic IELTS score of 6.5 (or a TOEFL iBT score of 90) with a minimum of 6.0 in speaking (exempt for applicants from English-speaking countries).
- Not be eligible for a Dutch study loan.
Typically, successful candidates fall within the top 5 to 10 percent of their class.
Duration and Funding
Recipients of the scholarship will receive between €3,000 and €22,000 for one year, specifically designed to assist with study-related expenses. Students have the discretion to allocate the funds as they see fit.
For those enrolled in a two-year program, there is potential for an additional UTS award that matches the first year’s amount to help cover costs in the second year. Continuation of this scholarship depends on meeting progress benchmarks, which include:
- Achieving an average grade of at least 7 out of 10 by the end of the third quartile of the first year.
