Yale Young Global Scholars invites high school students aged 16-18 from all over the world to stay on Yale’s campus for two weeks while working on different academic subjects. Students can apply for need-based scholarships that cover housing, food, materials, and air-conditioned rooms.
This year, there is a new place for YYGS students to stay. Participants will be in Yale’s Benjamin Franklin and Pauli Murray Colleges. These dorms are easier to get to, close to downtown New Haven, and have air cooling.

Eligibility
To apply for the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) 2026, you must:
- Be between 16 and 18 years old by the program start date.
- Be enrolled in high school or an equivalent program when you apply.
- Have a good academic record and a real interest in the subjects offered.

Eligible Academic Tracks
Students who are accepted into YYGS 2026 will stay at Yale’s Benjamin Franklin and Pauli Murray Colleges. They can choose from three two-week academic tracks:
- Innovations in Science & Technology
- Politics of Law & Economics
- Solving Global Challenges
Each track includes lectures from Yale professors, small seminars with a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio, and group projects with other students from around the world.
How to Apply
To apply for the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) Program, interested students should:
- Visit the program’s webpage.
- Fill out the online YYGS Application, including the Need-Based Financial Aid section, by January 7, 2026.
- Students can apply earlier to get a lower application fee.
- If the application fee is too much, students can ask for a fee waiver to make it $0 USD.
- Financial aid requests will be reviewed, and students will be notified about their application results by March 2026.
