The DLA Piper Global Scholarship is a two-year program that helps bright law students from developing countries grow, learn, and make a positive impact in their communities. The scholarship pays for everything the selected students (called Fellows) need full tuition, travel, food, accommodation, visa costs, and even a laptop.
Benefits
Students who receive this scholarship will get:
- Full university tuition for the entire two-year program
- All costs for internships during the scholarship (transport, food, accommodation, visas)
- Payment for courses or events that help build their career
- A laptop, phone, and headphones
- Strong internet connection
- Support for study materials like textbooks and subscriptions
- Help with business clothing needed for internships
Learning and Development Support includes:
- Access to Rosetta Stone for language learning
- A one-week development course where Fellows learn skills and meet lawyers and other students
- Guidance on setting clear career and education goals
- Help writing a strong CV and improving personal branding
- Interview preparation training
- Access to online DLA Piper training tools
- Internship opportunities in DLA Piper offices with both commercial and pro bono work
- A Leadership Course with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford (UK)
Eligibility
To qualify for the scholarship, you must:
- Be studying law and be in your last or second-to-last year of study in your home country, or
- Have finished a law degree and been accepted into a related Master’s program
- Be getting (or expected to get) a first-class degree or be in the top 10% of your class
- Have a recommendation from your university
- Be a citizen of the country where you are applying
- Have good spoken and written English so you can fully take part in the program

- Your university transcript
- A recommendation letter from your university (a lecturer, Head of Department, or Dean)
- Record a video of yourself (not more than 2 minutes) explaining who you are and why you chose to study law.
