General Admission Requirements
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):
- A minimum of a third-class degree from a recognized university or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a credit level pass.
- Master’s Degree Programs:
- A bachelor’s degree with at least a second-class lower division (2:2) in a related field from a recognized university.
- Some professional master’s programs may require relevant work experience.
- Doctoral Degree Programs (Ph.D.):
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.0 scale or its equivalent.
- Additional Requirements:
- Academic transcripts.
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate (for Nigerian applicants).
- Two letters of academic recommendation.
- A research proposal (for Ph.D. applicants).
Application Procedure
- Visit the BUK Postgraduate Portal:
- Visit https://www.mybuk2.buk.edu.ng/cpsforms2024/ and under the PROSPECTIVE STUDENT TAB click Applications at the home page. Login using FULL NAME OF THE APPLICANT and select “Applying for a Postgraduate Programme”. A username and password will be generated for you. Please take careful note of them, as you need them for subsequent steps of the application process.
- Payment:
- Login to your account and generate/print your BUK Personalized Payment Form (BUKPPF). A non-refundable application fee of N12,000:00 (Twelve Thousand Naira Only) is reflected on applicant’s BUKPPF, to be paid using Remita e-Payments and e-Collection platform (www.remita.net).
- Applicants must make sure that they entered ALL the information of the BUKPPF EXACTLY. Applicants must also ensure that all of the following information are captured exactly as they are written on the BUKPPF.
- Name of MDA Name of Service/Purpose Description • Amount to Pay (₦) Application No. BUKPPF ID Payer’s Full Name Payer’s Email Payer’s Phone
- Note: that Payer (Payer’s Full Name, Payer’s Email, Payer’s Phone) means the applicant, so even if the applicant is not the one making the payment (payment by proxy) make sure to use the applicant information and his/her name in all relevant places.
- Fill the Online Application Form:
- Complete the application form with accurate personal, academic, and professional details.
- Return to https://www.mybuk2.buk.edu.ng/cpsforms2024/ and login with your username and password to fill in the Application Forms; Program Selection Form, Personal Data Form, Qualifications Form.
- Transcript Request Form shall also be filled by candidates for Ph.D, M.Phil and Academic Masters’ Programs in addition to the forms listed in above. The applicants prints and processes this at the relevant institution.
- Submit the Application:
- Review all information carefully to ensure accuracy of all information provided before submission. Once submitted, print the acknowledgment slip for reference. The slip will be needed during the collection of admission letter and during registration.
- N.B: Successful applicants are to note that upon admission, they will be required to submit their NYSC discharge certificates, certificate of exemption or exclusion, among other documents during the screening exercise.
- The cost of each application form is Twelve Thousand Naira (N12,000) only, including administrative charges.
Application Deadline
The application portal will be open from Monday 30th December, 2024 to Friday, 30th May, 2025. Applicants are advised to complete their applications before the deadline, as late submissions may not be considered.
