Applications are now open for the FAO Internship Program 2026 at the FAO Headquarters in Italy and in other countries. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a part of the United Nations and works to help end hunger around the world.
The FAO Internship Program 2026 is for students and recent graduates to gain real work experience related to FAO’s work. The goal is to ensure everyone has enough healthy food to live active lives.
Benefits
- Interns will receive a monthly payment of $700, unless their university or another group is sponsoring them.
- This payment will be given for the entire internship period, which lasts between 3 to 11 months.
Eligibility
To apply for the FAO Internship in 2026, you need to:
- Be a student in an undergraduate or graduate program at a recognized school or a recent graduate.
- Study a subject related to FAO’s work.
- Know at least one of the FAO languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish). Knowing another language is a plus, and only certificates from approved organizations will be accepted.
- Be a citizen of FAO Member Nations.
- Be between 21 and 30 years old.
- Be comfortable in an international and diverse environment and have good communication skills.
- Note that if you have a family member (brother, sister, mother, or father) working for FAO, you cannot apply for the internship.
- Have the right residency or visa status for the location of the internship before starting.
