NDU Postgraduate Admission Form 2024/2025: What to Know and How to Apply

The Niger Delta University (NDU), Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State, invites applications from qualified candidates for admission into its postgraduate programs for the 2024/2025 academic session. This guide outlines the important details you need to know about the application process, eligibility criteria, and available programs.

 Available Programs

NDU offers a wide range of postgraduate programs leading to the award of Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD), Master’s degrees (M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., MBA), and Doctorate degrees (Ph.D.) across various faculties, including:

– Faculty of Arts
– Faculty of Science
– Faculty of Social Sciences
– Faculty of Management Sciences
– Faculty of Education
– Faculty of Engineering
– Faculty of Law
– Faculty of Environmental Sciences
– Faculty of Agricultural Technology

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission into any postgraduate program at NDU, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):
– Applicants must possess a minimum of a third-class degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least an upper credit in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

2. Master’s Degree (M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., MBA):
– Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of a second-class lower division from NDU or any recognized university.
– Candidates with a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in a related field may also be considered for admission into the Master’s program.

3. Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.):
– Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale from NDU or any other recognized university.

4. Additional Requirements:
– Candidates must meet specific faculty and departmental requirements, which can be found on the NDU postgraduate portal.
– Applicants are required to submit academic transcripts from their previous institutions.

 Application Process

Prospective candidates for NDU’s postgraduate programs should follow these steps to apply:

1. Visit the NDU Postgraduate Portal:
– Go to the official NDU postgraduate admission portal to begin the application process.

2. Create an Account:
– Provide a valid email address and phone number to create an account on the portal. Your account will be used to track your application status.

3. Fill Out the Application Form:
– Complete the online application form with accurate personal and academic details. Ensure all information provided is correct to avoid disqualification.

4. Upload Required Documents:
– Upload scanned copies of your academic certificates, transcripts, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, birth certificate, passport photograph, and other required documents.

5. Pay the Application Fee:
– Make payment for the non-refundable application fee online via the payment gateway provided on the portal. Payment receipts should be kept for reference.

6. Submit the Application:
– After filling out the form and making the payment, submit your application online. Be sure to print your acknowledgment slip, which will serve as proof of application.

7. Send Academic Transcripts:
– Arrange for your previous institutions to send your official academic transcripts directly to the NDU Postgraduate School.

Admission Screening

After submission, candidates may be invited for an oral or written screening exercise, depending on the specific program requirements. The screening dates and details will be communicated via email or published on the NDU website.

Duration of NDU Postgraduate Programs
  • PGD PROGRAMS: Minimum 0f two semesters, ,maximum of four semesters.
  • MASTERS PROGRAM: Minimum of four semesters, maximum of six semesters.
  • Ph.D. PROGRAMS: Minimum of six semesters. maximum of ten semesters.

PART-TIME

  • PGD PROGRAMS: Minimum of four semesters. maximum of six semesters.
  • MASTERS PROGRAMS: Minimum of six semesters, maximum of eight semesters.
  • Ph.D. PROGRAMS: Minimum of ten semesters, maximum of twelve semesters.

PART-TIME MBA/MPA DURATION

  • The duration for the MBA and MPA, is a minimum of four semesters.

N/B: Part-time programs are only available for Faculty of Management Sciences and Social Sciences.

Note:
  • Application Deadline: Candidates should submit their applications before the deadline, which will close on the midnight of August 31st, 2024. 
  • Candidates must upload academic credentials, NYSCC Discharge, Exclusive or Exemption Certificate, Birth Certificate/Age Declaration. and any other relevant document.
  • Incomplete or incorrect uploading of documents or improper filling of admission forms, will invalidate your application.
