NYSC Issues Important Notice to PCMs on Name Correction Before Orientation

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released an important notice for Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) about checking and correcting their personal details before the next orientation exercise.

The main instruction is simple: the name on your Statement of Result or Certificate must be exactly the same as the name on the NYSC portal.

This step is meant to help avoid problems during registration at orientation camps across the country. When names are different on documents and on the portal, it can cause delays or prevent a PCM from being properly registered in camp.

Make Sure your Name Matches

The National Youth Service Corps explained that the name on your academic document must match the name you used when registering on the NYSC portal.

If there is any difference in spelling or arrangement of names, the issue must be corrected before going to the orientation camp.

What to do if Your Details are Different

PCMs whose names do not match should take the following steps:

  • Contact your school: Reach out to your university or polytechnic as soon as possible.
  • Correct your records: Ask the school to update your name to the correct spelling and order.
  • Confirm the update: Make sure the corrected details appear on the NYSC portal before reporting to camp.

NYSC also reminded PCMs that it is their responsibility to ensure their personal data is correct. Anyone who fails to fix these issues may face problems or may not be allowed to complete registration at the orientation camp.
