The Axel Adler Scholarship 2026 offers a tuition fee waiver for outstanding international students applying to Bachelor’s or Master’s programs at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. This scholarship is funded by the Adlerbertska Scholarship Foundation, the Adlerbertska Grant Foundation, and the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).

Selection is mainly based on the academic qualifications and suitability of the applicant for their chosen program.

Benefits

The Axel Adler Scholarship covers:

  • Full tuition fee for the program you are admitted to.

Note: The scholarship does not cover living expenses, travel costs, or any other allowances.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the University of Gothenburg Axel Adler Scholarship 2026, applicants must:

  • Be required to pay tuition fees in Sweden.
  • Apply for an international, campus-based Bachelor’s or Master’s program at the University of Gothenburg as their first choice.
  • Submit an application for admission by 15 January 2026.
  • Pay the application fee and complete documentation of eligibility by 3 February 2026 on www.universityadmissions.se.

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  2. Letter of Motivation

Both documents must be written as text and submitted as part of your scholarship application.

  • In your Motivation Letter, you can highlight your achievements and explain why you are a good fit for your chosen program.
  • No additional attachments or documents are accepted.

The academic staff will assess applications based on the CV and Motivation Letter, along with your study program application, to evaluate your qualifications, commitment, and interest in studying at the University of Gothenburg.

Note: Only one scholarship is awarded per program, except for Master’s programs in Fine Art, Crafts, Design, Music, and Performance, where four scholarships are available in total.

Follow these steps to apply:

  1. Apply for admission to an eligible Bachelor’s or Master’s program at the University of Gothenburg through the application link.
  2. Ensure that the University of Gothenburg is listed as your first choice.
  3. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you will receive an email invitation with detailed instructions around February 10, 2026.
  4. Follow the instructions in the email to complete your scholarship application.
  5. If you are eligible but did not receive an email, check your spam folder first. If it’s not there, contact the scholarship office at [email protected].
