The University of Oxford is inviting women from countries with middle to low incomes to apply for the 2026 Optiver Foundation Scholarships. These scholarships will cover the costs of postgraduate programs for international students wishing to study in the UK. The program will fund up to 30 master’s students over five years, thanks to a generous gift from the Optiver Foundation.
Benefits
- Students will be part of the Departments of Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Science, or the Mathematical Institute.
- They will get full financial support for their course fees and a grant for living expenses.
Eligibility
To apply for the scholarship, you must:
- Live in an eligible country
- Apply to start a master’s course at Oxford in October 2026
- Indicate on the application form that you are female
Current Oxford students cannot apply.

- MSc Statistical Science
- MSc Theoretical and Computational Chemistry
How to Apply
To apply for the University of Oxford Optiver Foundation Scholarship, here’s what you need to do:
- Visit the program’s webpage.
- Submit your application for graduate study by the November, December, or January deadline for your course, and check the box on the application form.
- If you qualify, you will fill out another scholarship application form to share your socio-economic situation. This helps assess any challenges you may face.
- If you complete the form, meet the criteria, and get an offer from a suitable course, a panel of academic staff will review your application based on your academic achievements and potential.
- If you are selected, you will receive an email offering you the scholarship.
- If you accept the scholarship, your funding will be secure as long as you meet the conditions for studying at Oxford.
- Most applicants will hear back by email, and many offers are sent out in May.
