The Swedish Institute Women in STEM Scholarship is a fully funded program that supports women from Africa and Asia who want to use science and technology to create real change in their communities. This scholarship, known as the SI Pioneering Women in STEM, allows selected women to study for one or two years in a master’s program in Sweden.

The SI Women in STEM Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded opportunity, which means it covers almost everything you need while studying in Sweden.
You will receive:
- Full tuition fee coverage, paid directly to your university each semester.
- Monthly living allowance of SEK 12,000 to cover expenses throughout your studies.
- Travel grant of SEK 15,000 (one-time payment; not available for students already in Sweden).
- Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP). A platform that helps you grow, connect, and build your career while in Sweden.
- Access to the SI Alumni Network after graduation, where you can continue learning and networking with global changemakers.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the SI Pioneering Women in STEM Scholarship, you must:
- Be a female citizen of one of these 10 countries:
Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand, or Vietnam. - Apply and get admitted to one of the eligible master’s programs in Sweden before the admission results are announced.
- Choose a program in one or more STEM fields — Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
How to Apply
Below is a simple guide to help you apply:
- Choose a Master’s Program
- Pick a program from the list of eligible master’s courses for 2025/2026.
- You can find the full list on the official Swedish Institute website.
- Apply Through University Admissions
- Submit your application on universityadmissions.se between 15 October 2025 and 15 January 2026.
- You may apply for one or more eligible programs.
- Notify the Swedish Institute
- After applying, fill out the “Pioneering Women in STEM – Confirmation of University Application” form to let SI know that you’ve applied.
- Wait for Updates
- 26 March 2026: You’ll receive your admission result from University Admissions.
- 23 April 2026: The Swedish Institute will announce the scholarship results.
