Applications are now open for the Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships at TU Delft, Netherlands.

This scholarship was created to support bright international students who wish to study for their Master’s degree (MSc) at TU Delft. It is funded by the legacy of Mr. Justus van Effen, who studied at TU Delft in the 1940s and believed that technology can help solve real-world problems.

The Justus & Louise van Effen Foundation was set up to continue his vision by offering financial support to outstanding international students every year.

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship covers:

Full tuition fees for a TU Delft MSc program (based on the applicable statutory or institutional rate, depending on your nationality).
Living expenses allowance for the entire duration of the 2-year MSc program.

Eligibility

To qualify for the Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarship 2026, applicants must:

Be an international student who has received conditional admission into one of TU Delft’s 2-year regular MSc programs (not a Joint Education Programme).
Have a GPA of 80% or higher based on your university’s grading scale.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university outside the Netherlands.
Submit a complete MSc application before the scholarship deadline.

Required Documents

Applicants must upload the following documents along with their MSc application:

Completed MSc Application Form (check TU Delft admission requirements).
Scholarship Application Form.
Two Reference Letters.
- You can upload both letters as one PDF document during your MSc application, or
- Invite your referees through the portal by clicking the ‘Send Invitation’ button. Your referees will receive an email link to upload their letters.
- You can also combine both options (e.g., upload one letter and request one).
Note: Reference letters cannot be added after the scholarship deadline.
English Language Test Certificate (required for non-EU/EFTA students).

Make sure all required documents are uploaded before submitting your MSc application, as you won’t be able to add anything afterward.
