Montana State University is offering a graduate master’s assistantship for students who want to study in the U.S. The Wildlife Habitat Ecology Laboratory is looking for a motivated Graduate Research Assistant (M.S.) to help with a project.
This Graduate Assistantship will focus on how wildfire and livestock grazing affect the health of rangelands in the Intermountain West. Changes in fire patterns, land use, and weather are impacting these areas. Fire and grazing have always been connected and play a big role in plant health, soil condition, and wildlife habitats.
The project will look at how fire severity and frequency interact with grazing practices to impact soil health, plant diversity, wildlife use, and overall biodiversity.
