UNIBEN Opens Application for 2024/2025 Inter-Faculty Transfer Program

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced the commencement of the sale of forms for its inter-faculty transfer program for the 2024/2025 academic session. This initiative provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to transfer from their current faculty to another within the university, subject to meeting specific eligibility criteria and requirements.

What is the Inter-Faculty Transfer Program?

The inter-faculty transfer program is designed for students who wish to change their course of study due to academic interests, career aspirations, or other valid reasons. It allows students to explore disciplines better suited to their skills and goals while ensuring they remain part of the UNIBEN community.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the inter-faculty transfer program, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Academic Standing:
    • Candidates must have completed at least one academic session in their current faculty.
    • A minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.5 on a 5.0 scale is required.
  2. Good Conduct: Applicants must have no record of disciplinary action or misconduct.
  3. Credit Requirements: Students must have the necessary O’Level credits for the new course they wish to transfer to.
  4. Availability of Space: The desired faculty must have available slots for transfer students.

Application Process

Interested students should follow these steps to apply for the program:

  1. Obtain the Application Form:
    • Visit the university’s website at www.uniben.edu to download the inter-faculty transfer application form.
    • Alternatively, forms can be obtained from the Admissions Office on campus.
  2. Complete the Form: Fill in all required sections of the application form accurately. Ensure you provide valid contact details and your reasons for requesting the transfer.
  3. Attach Supporting Documents:
    • O’Level results (WAEC/NECO)
    • Academic transcript showing CGPA
    • A formal letter addressed to the Registrar stating the reason for the transfer
  4. Submit the Application: The completed form should be submitted to Exams and Records Division, Ugbowo Campus (Room 25) or Exams and Records Office, Ekenhuan Campus (Former Staff Club Building) before the stipulated deadline. i.e six weeks from the date of this publication.

Important Notes

  • Applicants are also required to make proper enquires before filling their forms.
  • Fee Payment: A non-refundable application fee of Sixty Thousand Naira( N60,000) only. must be paid at the university’s designated payment portal. Applicants are required to make proper enquiries before making payments for their Transfer Form (payments are non-refundable)
  • Course Alignment: Students are advised to consider their academic strengths and career goals before applying to ensure alignment with the new course requirements.
  • Approval Process: Duly completed forms are to be submitted to Exams and Records Division, Ugbowo campus (Room 25) or Exams and Records Office Ekenhuan Campus (Former Staff Club Building) and not to be taken to any Faculty/School or Department.. Applications will be reviewed by the admissions committee, faculty deans, and other relevant authorities.
