UNILAG Institute of Continuing Education admission (Part-time Degree), 2024/2025

The University of Lagos (UNILAG), through its Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), has announced the commencement of the sale of application forms for admission into its part-time degree programs for the 2024/2025 academic session. These programs are tailored for individuals seeking to advance their education while accommodating their professional and personal commitments.

Available Programs:

UNILAG ICE offers a diverse range of part-time degree programs across various faculties, including:

  1. Faculty of Arts:
    • Creative Arts (Theatre Arts, Music, Visual Arts)
    • English
    • European Languages (French, Russian)
    • History and Strategic Studies
    • Linguistics, African and Asian Studies
    • Philosophy
  2. Faculty of Education:
    • Adult Education
    • Education in various disciplines such as English, French, History, CRS, IRS, Yoruba, Igbo, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Geography, Early Childhood Education, Educational Administration, Guidance and Counselling, Human Kinetics and Health Education, Home Economics Education, and Technology Education.
  3. Faculty of Management Sciences:
    • Actuarial Science
    • Insurance
  4. Faculty of Social Sciences:
    • Economics
    • Geography
    • Mass Communication
    • Political Science
    • Psychology
    • Social Work
    • Sociology

Admission Requirements:

Prospective applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • O’Level Requirements:
    • A minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  • Direct Entry Requirements:
    • NCE, OND, HND, or a First Degree from recognized institutions in relevant disciplines.
    • JUPEB results with a minimum of 2.00 points.
    • Candidates must be at least 16 years old by December 31, 2024.

Application Procedure:

The application process involves two stages:

  1. Stage One: JAMB Registration
    • Log in to the JAMB CAPS website and register.
    • Pay a sum of ₦3,500 to obtain a JAMB registration number. Note that no UTME examination is required for ICE applicants.
  2. Stage Two: UNILAG Application
    • Visit the UNILAG application portal: https://applications.unilag.edu.ng.
    • Click on “Start Fresh Application”.
    • Select ICE as the application type and provide your personal details, including surname, first name, middle name, and JAMB registration number.
    • Generate and print the Payment Advice.
    • Proceed to any commercial bank to make a payment of ₦15,000.
    • Return to the application portal to complete the application form.
    • Submit the completed form online and print two copies.
    • Submit one hard copy of the completed form with the necessary documents to the Faculty of your chosen program and the second copy to the ICE Office.

Important Dates:

  • Application Deadline: The closing date for application submissions is specified on the application portal.
  • Qualifying Examination: Details regarding the date, time, and venue of the qualifying examination will be communicated through the application portal.

Additional Information:

  • Examination Details: Applicants will be required to sit for an entrance examination that assesses their proficiency in relevant subjects.
  • Examination Attendance: Candidates should arrive at the examination venue by 7:45 am with a color print of their application form and writing materials.
  • Admission Letters: Provisional admission letters will be available for collection approximately two weeks after the entrance examination.
