Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for admission, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):
   • A Bachelor’s degree with at least a third-class division or HND with a minimum of upper credit in relevant disciplines.
   • Additional qualifications or relevant work experience may be required for some programmes.
   • Some programs may require passing departmental tests.
2. Master’s Degree:
   • A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of second-class lower division.
   • A PGD with a minimum GPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale may also be considered.
3. Doctorate (Ph.D.):
   • A Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale or its equivalent.
   • Applicants with research-focused Master’s Degrees are preferred.
4. General Requirements:
   • Candidates must have five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
   • Candidates must meet the basic entry requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in their chosen fields.
   • Applicants must hold degrees from UNN or other recognized universities.

   • The application form is available online at the university’s postgraduate portal: UNN Portal.
   • The cost of the form is N26,070.00 (Twenty-Six Thousand Naira) only.
2. Complete the Online Application:
   • Fill out the application form accurately on the postgraduate portal.
   • Upload all required documents, including academic transcripts, certificates, and recent passport-sized photographs.
3. Submission:
   • Submit the completed application online and print the acknowledgment slip for reference.
4. Transcript Submission:
   • Applicants should request their academic institutions to send official transcripts directly to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

• Applicants must request transcripts from their previous institutions to be sent directly to:

• Transcripts must arrive no later than 1 August 2025 for applications to be processed.
• NYSC Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion Certificates must be attached.
• Certificates labelled “To Whom It May Concern” will not be accepted.
