WAEC GCE (2nd Series) Registration, 2025

The WASSCE for Private Candidates, commonly known as WAEC GCE, second series for 2025 is now open. It offers candidates a second chance to improve or obtain their Senior School Certificate independently of Nigerian secondary schools. The deadline to register has been changed as shown below;

  • Registration Opening Date: Monday, June 9, 2025
  • Deadline to Obtain PIN: Friday, October 31st, 2025
  • Registration Deadline: Sunday 2nd November, 2025 at 11:59pm
  • Registration Fee: ₦27,000
  • Bank/Agent Commission: ₦500 (non‑refundable)

Candidates can obtain the registration PIN and information pack from:

  • WAEC‑accredited banks: Access, GTBank, UBA, Ecobank, Zenith, First Bank, FCMB, Stanbic IBTC, Standard Chartered, Fidelity, Jaiz, Heritage, Sterling, Unity, WEMA, Polaris, Union Bank
  • Digital agents: Paga, Palmpay, Interswitch, System Specs, CoralPay, Bancwize, Paycom, IQ Pay, Xpress Payment, Kuda, among others
Step‑by‑Step Registration Process

Obtain a PIN:
Buy your registration PIN & information VCD from WAEC-accredited banks or digital payment agents.

2. Biometric Data Capture:
Do your fingerprint scan at an approved center.

3. Register Online:
Go to registration.waecdirect.org to fill your bio-data, upload your passport photograph, select your exam town, and choose subjects.

4. Double Check:
Preview your data carefully. Corrections can only be done three times before submission.

5 Print Photo Card:
Your WAEC GCE Photo Card shows your exam number, center, subjects, and Result Checker PIN. Keep it safe — it is your official entry pass.

Note: Not all centers offer all subjects — candidates must check the WAEC portal for subjects available at their selected center. English Language & Mathematics are compulsory.

Important Rules & Guidelines

Registration Rules:

  • Use only one registration profile. Multiple entries are cancelled automatically.
  • Ensure your names, date of birth, and gender are correct. WAEC does not allow name changes after submission.
  • Upload a clear passport photo with a contrasting background. Poor images can disqualify your entry.
  • Select your exam town carefully — it cannot be changed later.

Exam Rules:

  • Phones, smartwatches, digital devices, and foreign materials are strictly prohibited in the exam hall.
  • Impersonation is a serious crime — it leads to automatic result cancellation, possible arrest, and prosecution.
  • Any form of cheating (collaboration, copying, or leaking questions) attracts disqualification.
  • Candidates must bring their Photo Card & valid ID on all exam days.
  • Special needs candidates must declare their condition during registration for appropriate support.

Walk-in Registration:
Candidates who miss the deadline may apply as “walk-in” up to 24 hours before their paper, at a higher fee of ₦45,000.

  3. Be consistent with personal data across online and biometric stages.
  4. Check subject selections carefully—errors may not be corrected after submission.
  5. Keep your contact info up to date, especially phone and email.
  6. Print and safeguard your photo card and result-checker PIN; they are essential.
  7. Adhere to WAEC regulations during examinations—no cheating, impersonation, or gadgets allowed.
