Federal University, Lafia (FULAFIA) is a public federal university in Nigeria, located in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State. The university was established in 2011 (sometimes referenced as 2010 by act), as part of the expansion of federal universities across the country. It began academic activities on a “take-off” site in Lafia (Obi Road area) before gradually moving operations to its permanent site along Makurdi Road spanning about 206 hectares.
FULAFIA aims to deliver quality higher education, promote research and community service, and equip graduates with entrepreneurial and life skills for national development. Over the years, FULAFIA has grown to offer numerous undergraduate and postgraduate programs across a variety of faculties including Agriculture, Arts, Computing, Engineering, Basic Medical Sciences, Education, Environmental Design, Law, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, and more.
