Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) Announces Extension for 2024/2025 Course Registration

The Office of the Registrar of the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) has announced a special extension of the course registration exercise for the 2024/2025 academic session. This decision was taken after receiving formal approval from the Vice-Chancellor, and the information was communicated through an internal memorandum circulated within the university community.

The memorandum, which was officially signed by the Registrar, Dr. Nuradeen Abdul, clearly outlined the purpose of the extension, the category of students it affects, and the specific period during which the registration portal will be reopened. According to the notice, this extension is a limited and targeted arrangement, not a general reopening for all students.

Students covered by the extension

The special registration window applies only to two clearly defined groups of students. The first group includes students who have already paid their required fees and have written their first or second semester examinations but did not complete their course registration. The second group consists of students currently on the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) or Teaching Practice for the 2024/2025 academic session who have also paid their fees but are yet to register their courses.

The memorandum emphasized that only students who fall within these categories are eligible to make use of the extension, making it clear that the opportunity is not open to the entire student population.

Registration portal reopening and timeline

To implement the directive, the university instructed the Directorate of Management Information Systems (MIS) to reopen the course registration portal strictly for the affected students. The portal is scheduled to be accessible from Thursday, 9 January 2026, to Friday, 16 January 2026.

Students who qualify for the extension are expected to complete their course registration within this period, as no additional dates or further extensions were mentioned in the memorandum.

Reason for the special extension

The memorandum, which was addressed to the Students’ Union Government (SUG) President, explained that the extension was approved to ensure the smooth and timely processing of the academic results of the affected students. It advised students to take the information seriously and complete all necessary registration steps within the approved timeframe.
