As the 2024 academic session approaches, Sule Lamido University (SLU) is preparing to welcome a new cohort of students through its Post-UTME screening process. Prospective students eagerly await the announcement of eligibility criteria, cut-off marks, and registration details. This article provides a comprehensive guide to help candidates navigate the SLU Post-UTME 2024 process.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the SLU Post-UTME screening exercise, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. JAMB UTME Score: Candidates must have scored a minimum of 140 in the 2024 JAMB UTME. This score is subject to change based on the university’s discretion and the overall performance of candidates in the UTME.
2. Choice of Institution: Candidates must have chosen Sule Lamido University as their first choice during the UTME registration. Those who did not select SLU as their first choice are required to change their institution to SLU via the JAMB portal before registering for the Post-UTME.
3. O’ Level Requirements: Candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings in SSCE (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) or an equivalent examination. Specific course requirements should be checked on the SLU website or JAMB brochure.
4. Direct Entry Candidates: Direct Entry (DE) candidates must have obtained a minimum of Upper Credit in their OND, NCE, or equivalent qualifications. They must also apply for the Post-UTME screening.
Cut-Off Mark
The cut-off mark for SLU’s 2024 Post-UTME screening has been set at 140. However, it is important to note that this is the general cut-off mark for eligibility. Some departments may have higher cut-off marks depending on the competition and the number of applicants. Candidates are advised to aim for higher scores in the Post-UTME screening to improve their chances of gaining admission into their desired courses.
Registration Details
Registration for the SLU Post-UTME 2024 screening will commence on Monday, 16th September, 2024 and end on midnight of Monday, 30th September, 2024. Here’s how to go about the registration:
- Candidates should visit the official Sule Lamido University portal www.slu.edu.ng and navigate to admissions and select online application or visit admissions.slu.edu.ng select UTME or Direct Entry (DE).
- Log in using your UTME number and UTME score (UTME applicants) or DE number, state of origin and gender (DE applicants) and upload your passport-sized photograph.
- Update your profile with the required accurate information.
- Update your ‘O’ Level Examinations, maximum of two sittings. After saving the information, upload a clean, clear scanned copy of your SSCE (for UTME Candidates) statement of result(s).
- After step 4 above, DE candidates will then proceed to upload their SSCE and ‘A’ Level Result.
- Go to “POST-UTME payment” and click on “Pay Now” to pay directly with your card or click on “Download Payment Schedule” to generate, download and print a payment schedule that contains all the information for the payment. All candidates are to pay the sum of Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000.00) only (exclusive of REMITA charges) as Online Post-UTME/DE Screening Fee via any Commercial Bank, Debit Card or Remita Website.
- After completing the registration form, candidates should review the information provided and submit the form. Upon submission, they should print the acknowledgment slip, which will contain important details about the screening.
Screening Process
The SLU Post-UTME screening exercise will likely be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. Candidates are advised to prepare adequately for the screening by revising relevant subjects and practicing with past questions.
It is also essential to bring along the following documents on the day of the screening:
- A copy of the acknowledgment slip
- UTME Result/DE Registration Slip
- SSCE Statement(s) of Result
- Two recent passport-sized photographs with white background
- Certificate of Indigeneship
- Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
- ‘A’ Level Statement of Result (for DE candidates only)
- Evidence of payment.
NOTE:
- Any candidate who wishes to change his choice of Institution or program, using the JAMB Green Card, should do so within the stipulated period of the two weeks online registration, that is Monday, 16th September, 2024 through midnight of Monday, 30th 2024.
- Any candidate who fails to register for the online screening exercise on the scheduled dates will not be considered for admission into the University during the 2024/2025 Academic Session.
