University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) Postpones First Semester Examinations for 2025/2026 Session

The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has officially informed students, staff, and the entire university community that the First Semester Examinations for the 2025/2026 Academic Session have been postponed.

The examinations were initially scheduled to commence on Monday, 23 February 2026. However, the University Management has reviewed the academic calendar and approved a new commencement date.

Revised Examination Date

Following the adjustment, the First Semester Examinations will now:

  • Begin: Monday, 9 March 2026
  • End: Saturday, 25 April 2026

The new date, Monday, 9 March 2026, now stands as the official start of the examinations. Students and academic departments are advised to take note of the updated schedule and make necessary preparations accordingly.

Easter Break During Examination Period

UNICROSS has also indicated that there will be a temporary pause in the examination timetable to observe the Easter holiday.

  • Break Period: Thursday, 2 April 2026 – Monday, 6 April 2026
  • Examinations Resume: Tuesday, 7 April 2026

After the Easter break, examinations will continue as scheduled until the final date of Saturday, 25 April 2026.

Reasons for the Rescheduling

The University approved the postponement in order to give students sufficient time to fulfill important academic and administrative requirements linked to the examination process.

The adjustment is intended to enable students to:

  • Complete all outstanding course registration procedures.
  • Allow newly admitted students to finalize their documentation.
  • Obtain their official University Identification Cards.

The University emphasized that possession of a valid University Identification Card is mandatory for entry into examination halls. Students without their ID cards will not be granted access to sit for their examinations.

Students are therefore encouraged to use this extended period wisely to regularize their registration status and ensure full compliance with all examination requirements.
