The Abia State University (ABSU) has officially released the admission list for the 2024/2025 academic session on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). This means that candidates who applied for admission into ABSU can now check their admission status through JAMB CAPS.
What is JAMB CAPS?
The JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) is an online platform introduced by JAMB to ensure transparency and proper regulation of the admission process. Through CAPS, candidates can monitor their admission status, accept or reject admission offers, and track changes to their admission profile.
How to Check ABSU Admission Status on JAMB CAPS
To check if you’ve been offered admission to ABSU, follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Visit the JAMB CAPS Portal
- Open your web browser and visit the JAMB E-Facility portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng.
Step 2: Log in to Your JAMB Profile
- Enter your email address and password used during your UTME registration to log in to your JAMB profile.
Step 3: Access JAMB CAPS
- Once logged in, navigate to the “Admissions” tab on the dashboard, and click on “Check Admission Status”.
- You’ll be redirected to the CAPS page where you can access your admission information.
Step 4: Check Admission Status
- On the CAPS page, click on “Admission Status”.
- Select your exam year (2024) and input your JAMB registration number.
- Click on “Check Admission Status” to view whether you’ve been offered admission to ABSU.
Step 5: Accept or Reject Admission
- If you have been offered admission, the status will show “Admission Offered”.
- You will have the option to either accept or reject the admission offer.
- If you accept, your admission process will continue, and you will be eligible for registration at ABSU.
- If you reject, you will forfeit the admission, and your slot will be made available to other candidates.
Important Notes for Candidates
- Ensure Prompt Response: Once admission is offered, candidates are advised to accept or reject the offer within a limited timeframe. Failure to respond may result in losing the admission offer.
- Admission List Updates: The admission list is typically updated in batches, so if you don’t see your admission status immediately, check back regularly as more names might be added.
- After Accepting Admission: Once you have accepted your admission on JAMB CAPS, proceed to the ABSU portal for further instructions on payment of acceptance fees and other registration procedures.
- Rejected Admission: If your admission is rejected, you may consider looking out for other admission opportunities or checking JAMB CAPS for further notifications.
