Program Details

Community Midwifery

  • Duration: 24 months (2 years)
  • Eligibility: Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics from not more than two sittings. Candidates must be at least 17 years old.
  • Start Date: March 2025

Community Nursing

  • Duration: 24 months (2 years)
  • Eligibility: Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics from not more than two sittings. Candidates must be at least 17 years old.
  • Start Date: April 2025

Eligibility Criteria

Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Educational Qualifications:
    • Minimum of five (5) O’Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, obtained in not more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, or GCE).
  2. Health Status:
    • Applicants must be medically fit and provide evidence of a fitness certificate from a recognized government hospital.
  3. Nationality:
    • Must be a Nigerian citizen and preferably an indigene of Bayelsa State.
  4. Other Requirements:
    • Submission of a Local Government Area (LGA) identification letter.

Interested candidates should follow these steps to apply:

  1. Obtain the Application Form:
    • Visit the BYSCONS admission office in Yenagoa or designated centers to purchase the application form.
    • Application forms are available at the cost of ₦20,000 (non-refundable), payable to the designated bank account.
    • Present the bank teller at the Bursary Department of the college.
    • Request a receipt containing a unique number.

    • Recent passport photographs

    • Evidence of application fee payment
  4. Submit the Application Form:
    • Review and submit the completed form online.
    • Print the acknowledgment slip generated after submission.

Entrance Examination

All applicants will be required to sit for an entrance examination
