The Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) is offering a variety of programs across different fields. As the 2024 academic year approaches, prospective students must be aware of the requirements for the Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercises. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the ESUT Post-UTME/DE screening, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. JAMB UTME Candidates:
– Minimum JAMB Score: Candidates must have scored at least 160 in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
– O’ Level Requirements: Candidates must possess a minimum of five credit passes in relevant subjects, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings. Acceptable results include WAEC, NECO, GCE, and NABTEB.
2. Direct Entry Candidates:
– Qualification: Candidates must have an A’ Level certificate, OND, HND, NCE, or any equivalent qualification. They must also have met the O’ Level requirements as outlined above.
– First Choice Institution: Candidates must have selected ESUT as their first choice during the JAMB registration. Those who did not can change their institution to ESUT via the JAMB portal.
Cut-Off Mark
The general cut-off mark set by ESUT for the 2024 Post-UTME screening is 160. However, some departments may require higher scores depending on the competitiveness of the program. For instance:
– Medicine and Surgery: 200 and above
– Engineering and Technology: 180 and above
– Law: 180 and above
– Management and Social Sciences: 160 and above
Candidates are advised to aim for higher scores to increase their chances of securing admission, especially for competitive courses.
Registration Process
The registration process for the ESUT POST-UTME/DE 2024 screening is straightforward and must be completed online. The online registration will begin on Monday, 19th August, 2024 and end on Friday, 20th September, 2024. The portal closes on Friday, 20th September, 2024. The following procedures should be followed to register successfully:
1. Visit the ESUT Portal:
– Log in to the official ESUT admission portal at [www.esut.edu.ng](https://www.esut.edu.ng).
2. Create an Account:
– Provide your JAMB registration number and a valid email address to create an account.
3. Pay the Screening Fee:
– The screening fee is usually ₦2,000, payable online via debit card or through a bank payment option.
4. Complete the Online Form:
– Fill in the required personal details, upload your recent passport photograph, and provide your academic information, including O’ Level and JAMB results.
5. Submit and Print Acknowledgment Slip:
– After filling out the form, review your details, submit the application, and print the acknowledgment slip for future reference.
Important Notice
- Candidates awaiting the results of WAEC (May/June) 2024 and NABTER (May/June) 2024 are eligible to apply. Results released after 30th September 2024 will not be accepted.
- Inconsistency in name is not acceptable and may lead to disqualification.
- Candidates names on their level certificates and UTME results and other registration documents must be the same.
