Available Postgraduate Programs/ Durations

Gombe State University offers a wide range of postgraduate programs across various faculties. These include:

  1. Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD): Designed for candidates seeking to bridge the gap between their first degree and advanced studies; Minimum of one academic session and maximum of two academic sessions.
  2. Master’s Degree Programs (M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., etc.): Available for candidates aiming to specialize in their respective fields; Minimum of two academic sessions and maximum of three academic sessions.
  3. Doctorate Degree Programs (Ph.D.): For those pursuing advanced research and academic careers;  Minimum of three academic sessions and maximum of five academic sessions.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. For PGD Programs:
    • A minimum of a third-class degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
    • HND holders with at least lower credit may also apply.
  2. For Master’s Programs:
    • A Bachelor’s degree with at least a second-class lower division in the relevant field.
    • Candidates with a third-class degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in a related field may also be considered.
  3. For Ph.D. Programs:
    • A Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale or equivalent.

Method of Application

Interested candidates should follow the steps below to apply:

  1. Pay ₦10,000 using the Gombe State University Remita platform.
  2. Submit the payment teller to the Bursary Department to collect a receipt.
  3. Proceed to the School of Postgraduate Studies to collect the application form.

The cost of the postgraduate application form is N10,000. Additional charges may apply for online transactions.

Deadline for Application

Submission of Transcripts for GSU Admission

Electronic Submission

Send your transcripts electronically to [email protected].

Ensure the email subject is formatted as follows: “Transcript: Name of Programme, Name of Applicant, Year of Application.”

The transcript must include a covering letter, and the awarding institution’s email address must be used.

All transcripts must be stamped and signed by the issuing officer.

Postal Submission

If sending by post, ensure the transcript is sealed with the institutional seal.
