NNPC/SNEPCo Scholarship 2025 (₦250,000 Annual Award)

The NNPC–SNEPCo National University Scholarship is a prestigious, merit-based program jointly funded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo). It aims to support outstanding Nigerian undergraduates in accredited Nigerian universities with financial assistance throughout their degree programs.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet all the following requirements:

  1. Be a Nigerian citizen
  2. Be a full-time undergraduate in a public, NUC-accredited Nigerian university
  3. Currently in 200-level (second year) of their program
  4. Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5/5.0 (or equivalent)
  5. Not receiving any other scholarship from national/international oil & gas organizations
  6. Female applicants are especially encouraged to apply

Additionally, applicants must hold a valid JAMB result and university admission letter

The scholarship primarily supports disciplines linked to energy and national development:

  • Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, etc.)
  • Geosciences
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Natural Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science
  • Agricultural Sciences
  • Economic Sectors: Economics, Finance, Law, Medicine and Allied Sciences

Required Documents & Deadline

  • All candidates must complete and sign the Government Official declaration form. You can download the form by clicking https://dragnetnigeria.com/download/SNEPCO.pdf.
  • Application Fee: Free — beware of scam sites or applications requesting payment
  • Documents Required:
    • Recent passport photo (JPEG, ≤200 KB)
    • Admission letter & JAMB result
    • O’Level results (and ‘A’Level/OND/NCE if applicable)
    • Official letter of identification (state of origin)
    • 100-level transcript with CGPA ≥ 3.5
    • Completed government declaration form
  • Deadline: Applications close on August 15, 2025

Application Process

To apply for the scholarship, follow these steps:

  1. CLICK HERE to access the scholarship webpage.
  2. Once you’re on the page, locate the “Apply Now” tab in the top right corner and click on it.
  3. Select “Register Now” to create a new account.
  4. Go to your email inbox to activate your account by clicking the link provided.
  5. Fill in your personal information, National Identification Number, and educational details, and upload the required documents in scanned format.
  6. Make sure that the names you use in your application match the names on all your documents in the same order. If they don’t match, include a sworn affidavit or certificate.
  7. After uploading, take a moment to view all documents to confirm they are clear and accurate.
  8. When prompted to upload a photo, make sure to use a passport photograph with a white background.
  9. Double-check your application information for any errors before proceeding.
  10. Click “Apply Now” to submit your application.
  11. You will receive a confirmation email and SMS once your application has been successfully submitted.
  12. Return to https://candidate.scholastica.ng/, enter your Email and Password to download your profile and have your Head of Department sign the document.
  13. Finally, upload a scanned copy of the signed profile for verification purposes.

Please note: Submitting multiple applications may result in disqualification by the Scholarship board.

Selection & Award Renewal
  1. Shortlisting Stage: Top 10 candidates per Nigerian state (plus FCT) are shortlisted for a computer-based test (CBT)
  2. Interview & Verification: Shortlisted participants undergo document verification and CBT. Any falsified submission leads to disqualification
  3. Annual Renewal: Scholars must maintain a CGPA of 3.5 or higher each session to continue receiving the award
