About the OAU Pre-Degree Program

The OAU Pre-Degree Program is an intensive coaching curriculum designed to prepare senior secondary school graduates for university education. Recognizing that students may carry over certain deficiencies from secondary school, this program aims to address such gaps, providing students with a solid foundation that facilitates superior academic performance in the university.

Program Duration

The Pre-Degree Program spans nine (9) calendar months, divided into two contact periods. Throughout this duration, students receive comprehensive instruction in their chosen subject combinations, preparing them for university-level education.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the OAU Pre-Degree Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Possess a minimum of five (5) credits in relevant subjects, including English Language.
• For Science and Social Science-based courses, Mathematics is compulsory.
• For Law, Literature-in-English is required.
• These credits must be obtained at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB examinations.

Available Subject Combinations

Applicants are to select subject combinations relevant to their intended course of study. The available combinations include:

• Arts:
  • Government / Literature in English / Religious Studies (GLR)
  • Economics / Government / Literature in English (EGL)
• Biological Sciences:
  • Biology / Chemistry / Physics (BCP)
• Physical Sciences:
  • Chemistry / Mathematics / Physics (CMP)
  • Geography / Mathematics / Physics (GMP)
• Social Sciences:
  • Economics / Government / Mathematics (EGM)
  • Mathematics / Geography / Economics (MGE)

These combinations are structured to align with the requirements for admission into various degree programs at OAU.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates should follow the steps below to apply:

1. Payment of Application Fee:
   • Pay a non-refundable fee of ₦15,000.00 through the e-Tranzact Payment Platform at any branch of First Bank, Polaris Bank, Wema Bank, or UBA Plc nationwide.
   • Obtain a receipt containing a Receipt Number and Confirmation Order Number.
2. Online Registration:
   • Visit the OAUCDL website: www.oaucdl.edu.ng and click on “2025/2026 Pre-Degree Application”.
   • Create an account by clicking on “Apply Now!” and provide the required information, including a valid username, password, and email address.
   • Log in with your username and password.
   • Select the payment method (e-Tranzact) and proceed to fill the online application form.
   • Upload a recent passport photograph (colored with white background, not earlier than 3 months before the time of application, and not more than 100KB in size).
   • After completing the form, log out and keep your username and password safe.

Important Information

• Application Deadline: The closing date for the submission of applications is August 23, 2025.
• Entrance Examination: Applicants will be required to sit for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) at designated centers in Ile-Ife and Ikeja, Lagos State.
• UTME Registration: All candidates are required to register for the 2025 UTME during the programme.
• Valid Contact Details: Applicants must use valid email addresses and personal telephone numbers for correspondence.
• No Third-Party Sales: The OAUCDL has not authorized any person(s) or agent(s) to sell application forms on its behalf. Application is strictly online.
