UMYUK Invitation for 2nd Post-UTME/DE Screening Exercise for the 2024/2025 Academic Session

The management of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina (UMYUK) has officially announced the commencement of the 2nd Post-UTME/Direct Entry (DE) Screening Exercise for the 2024/2025 academic session. This screening exercise is an opportunity for candidates who missed the initial Post-UTME/DE screening or those who wish to participate in a supplementary round to secure admission into the institution.

Eligible candidates who chose UMYUK as their first choice in the 2024 UTME and Direct Entry applicants are invited to participate in this exercise. Below are the important details on eligibility criteria, the application process, and key dates for the 2nd Post-UTME/DE screening exercise.


Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the 2nd Post-UTME/DE screening exercise:

  1. UTME Candidates:
  • Candidates must have selected UMYUK as their first choice during the 2024 UTME registration.
  • They must have scored a minimum of 170 in the 2024 UTME.
  • Applicants should possess at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in either WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  1. Direct Entry (DE) Candidates:
  • DE candidates must have chosen UMYUK as their first choice institution.
  • They must possess two A-Level passes or ND/HND, NCE, or other relevant qualifications.
  • Additionally, they should meet the minimum qualification criteria for their chosen course of study.

Application Procedure for UMYUK 2nd Post-UTME/DE Screening

Eligible candidates are required to follow the outlined steps below to apply for the 2nd Post-UTME/DE screening:

  1. Visit the UMYUK Portal:
  • Go to the official UMYUK website at https://umyu.edu.ng and navigate to the Post-UTME/DE application page.
  1. Create an Account:
  • Log in using your JAMB Registration Number and create a profile on the screening portal.
  1. Payment of Screening Fee:
  • Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,000 via the university’s portal using their ATM card or through any of the supported payment options.
  1. Fill Out the Online Form:
  • Complete the Post-UTME/DE screening application form by providing accurate personal and academic details, including your O’Level and A-Level results where applicable.
  1. Upload Required Documents:
  • Upload scanned copies of your O’Level/ A’Level results, JAMB result slip, and a recent passport photograph.
  1. Submit and Print Acknowledgement Slip:
  • After completing the application form, submit it and print the acknowledgement slip as proof of registration. This slip will be required during the screening process.

Screening Date and Venue

The Aptitude Test is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 26th October,2024

Important Notes for Applicants

  • Exemptions: All candidates for the following programs are exempted:
  • Law (LLB), MBBS (Medicine), Biochemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Education/Biology, Microbiology, Education/Computer Science, Environmental Management. Also those who are recognized by JAMB as physically challenged are exempted from the Post-UTME aptitude test, but are requested to forward hard copies of their credentials to the Registrar’s office.
  • Multiple Applications: Candidates who have already participated in the first Post-UTME/DE screening exercise need not apply again unless otherwise instructed by the university.
  • Submission of Credentials: UTME candidates are to submit copies of their Post-UTME registration slip, JAMB registration slip, and o’level result(s) at the venue of the Aptitude Test. On the other hand, DE Candidates are to forward copies of their credentials to the office of the Registrar.
  • Ongoing Admission Process: After the completion of the 2nd screening exercise, UMYUK will commence the admission process based on the performance of candidates in both the UTME/DE exams and the Post-UTME screening.
  • JAMB CAPS: Candidates are reminded to regularly check their JAMB CAPS portal for updates on their admission status.
