UNIBEN POST-UTME/DE 2024: Eligibility, Cut-Off Mark, and Registration Details

 

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has officially announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for the 2024/2025 academic session. The screening exercise is scheduled to hold between Monday, 7th October, 2024 and Saturday, 12th October, 2024. The venue is in designated centers within the Ugbowo Campus of the University.

 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the UNIBEN Post-UTME/DE screening, candidates must meet the following requirements:

UTME Candidates: Applicants must have scored a minimum of 200 in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and selected UNIBEN as their first choice institution. Candidates who initially selected another institution as their first choice but wish to apply to UNIBEN must make the necessary changes through the JAMB portal.

– Direct Entry (DE) Candidates: Applicants must possess at least five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings in O’ Level examinations (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB). Additionally, DE candidates must have a minimum of merit pass in National Diploma (ND), National Certificate of Education (NCE), or an Advanced Level (A-Level) pass in relevant subjects.

 Cut-Off Mark

The general cut-off mark for the Post-UTME screening is 200. However, specific programs may have higher cut-off marks due to the competitive nature of those courses. Candidates are advised to check the university’s official website for the specific cut-off marks for their chosen courses.

 Registration Details

1. Registration Period:
The registration portal will be open from 8:00 am on Friday, 16th August, 2024 to midnight on Friday, 13th September, 2024 . Candidates are encouraged to complete their registration as early as possible to avoid last-minute challenges.

2. Registration Process:
– Step 1: Visit the UNIBEN official website and click on the Post-UTME/DE registration link.
– Step 2: Create a profile by providing a valid email address and phone number.
– Step 3: Login to your profile and fill in the required personal and academic details.
– Step 4: Upload your recent passport photograph and O’ Level/DE result(s).
– Step 5: Pay the non-refundable screening fee of [insert amount] through the designated payment platform.
– Step 6: After payment, complete the online application form and submit it.
– Step 7: Print the acknowledgment slip, which contains the screening schedule and other relevant information.

3. Screening Mode:
The screening exercise will be computer-based (CBT) and will cover subjects relevant to the candidate’s chosen course of study. For DE candidates, there may also be an oral or written assessment as part of the screening process.

4. Important Documents:
Candidates are required to bring the following documents to the screening venue:
– A printed copy of the Post-UTME/DE registration slip.
– UTME result slip (for UTME candidates) or DE registration slip (for DE candidates).
– Original and photocopies of O’ Level/DE results.
– Birth certificate or sworn age declaration.
– Local Government Area (LGA) certificate of origin.

N/B:

  • Applications must be concluded online not later than Friday, 13th September, 2024. Candidates who pay after the above deadline will not be screened.
  • Candidates are expected to go back online from Friday, 27th September,2024 to check for their specific day, venue and time for screening.
  • All candidates are expected to be seated for at least one hour before the stipulated time for their screening exercise.
  • Mobile phones and calculators are not allowed.
