The Barau I Jibrin Foundation is proud to announce the 2025 edition of its Domestic Postgraduate Scholarship Program. This initiative reflects the foundation’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and providing financial support to outstanding Nigerian students pursuing postgraduate studies within the country.

About the Scholarship

The Barau I Jibrin Foundation Domestic Postgraduate Scholarship is designed to empower students in science and technology fields. This program will provide scholarships for 300 graduates to pursue postgraduate studies in selected Nigerian universities. The program supports master’s and doctoral degree candidates who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to community development.

Scholarship recipients will study at the following universities:

  • Bayero University, Kano
  • Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
  • University of Ibadan
  • University of Nigeria, Nsukka
  • Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife
  • University of Lagos

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive the following benefits:

  1. Tuition Fees: Full or partial coverage of tuition fees for the duration of the postgraduate program.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  1. Nationality:
    • Must be a Nigerian citizen.
  2. Academic Requirements:
    • Hold a first degree in Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with a CGPA of 3.5 or higher on a 5.0 scale.
    • Have five O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics.
  3. Age Limit:
    • Master’s applicants: Not more than 35 years old.
    • PhD applicants: Not more than 40 years old.
  4. Other Requirements:
    • Demonstrated leadership potential and a track record of community service.
    • Submission of a well-detailed research proposal (for PhD candidates).
