Ika South LGA Opens 2025/2026 Students’ Bursary Scheme

The Ika South Local Government has announced the commencement of the 2025/2026 Students’ Bursary Scheme for qualified indigenous students of the area. The bursary was introduced by the administration of Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior as part of its Education Support Initiative, designed to encourage academic excellence and reduce the financial burden on students.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • Must be a bona fide indigene of Ika South Local Government Area.
  • Must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
  • Must be a full-time student of a government-approved public or private tertiary institution.
  • Must have obtained a minimum CGPA of 2.50 in the previous academic session.
  • Must be in 200 level or above for university students, ND II or HND for polytechnics/monotechnics, or NCE II–III for colleges of education.
  • Must operate an active account with a CBN-approved commercial bank.

Note: Postgraduate students (PGD, Master’s, and PhD) are not eligible to apply.

Required Documents

Applicants are expected to upload the following documents during the online application:

  • Local Government Certificate of Origin
  • Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
  • Provisional Admission Letter
  • Latest semester result sheet, duly signed by the Head of Department
  • Student identity card (front and back)
  • Recent passport photograph in JPEG or PNG format
Application Process
  • Interested applicants should visit www.bursary.ikasouthlga.dl.gov.ng and select “Proceed to Application Portal.”
  • A non-refundable processing fee of ₦1,100 is required to complete the application.
  • Applicants who successfully submit their applications should download and print the acknowledgement slip for reference.
Application Deadline

The application portal will remain open for four weeks, from Friday, 16 January 2026, to Friday, 13 February 2026.
