Nankai University 2026 Undergraduate Scholarships in China

The Nankai University Fully-Funded Undergraduate Scholarship 2026 is a great chance for international students who want to study in one of China’s top schools without worrying about money.

These scholarships are paid for by Nankai University or the Chinese government. There are four types of scholarships for students starting in September 2025. Each one comes with different benefits.

Benefits

1. Chinese Government Scholarship

– Covers tuition
– Covers accommodation
– Gives medical insurance
– Gives a monthly allowance

2. International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

– Free tuition
– Free accommodation
– Medical insurance
– Living allowance

3. Tianjin Government Scholarship

– Helps with tuition

4. “Study-at-NKU” President Scholarship

– Tuition support
– May also cover accommodation or living allowance
Deadline: May 30, 2026

Eligibility

To qualify, you must:

• Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health and at least 18 years old (born before Sept 1, 2007).
• Have a senior high school certificate with good grades.
• Know Chinese (HSK Level 4 with at least 180).
• Meet the rules from China’s Ministry of Education (Document No. 12, 2020).
• Some programs have extra requirements (listed in the attached NKU 2025 program guide).

Required Documents

You must prepare:
– Completed application form
– Passport information page (valid past Sept 1, 2026). If you live in China, also include your visa/residence permit.
– Senior high school certificate (notarized). If it’s not in English/Chinese, add a translation.
– High school transcripts or current school results (with translation if needed).
– A personal statement in English or Chinese.
– HSK Level 4 certificate (minimum score 180).
– One recommendation letter.
– Any extra documents showing your skills (awards, certificates, published work, etc.).
– Medical exam form for foreigners (must be done after Nov 2024).
– Proof of financial support.
– A non-criminal record.

The university may ask for more documents if needed.

How to Apply

1. Visit the application webpage.
2. Create an account on the Nankai International Students Application System.
3. Fill out the form, upload your documents, pay the 400 RMB application fee, and submit.
   Application period: Oct 20, 2025 – Jun 30, 2026.
4. Nankai University will review your application.
5. If you pass the first stage, you will join an assessment in March, April, or May 2026.
6. Top 20% of students from each round will be recommended for the Chinese Government Scholarship or the NKU President Scholarship.
7. Final admission is based on your grades, Chinese level, documents, and assessment results.
8. Check your admission status online.
   Admission letters will start coming out in June 2026.
