The management of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has agreed to give students more time to complete their verification and registration.
Both new and returning students now have until Friday, 16 January 2026 to finish everything.
This decision was made after a report showed that many students had not registered yet. As of 19 December 2025, only about half of the newly admitted students had completed their registration. For returning students, the number was even lower, with less than ten percent done. Because of this, the school felt it was necessary to extend the deadline.
In a memo signed by the Registrar, Ambrose G. Ugwu, the university explained that the extra time is to help students arrange their documents and complete registration without pressure. However, students who fail to meet the new deadline may face penalties from the school.
The Registrar also directed Deans, Heads of Departments, Faculty Officers, ICT representatives, and all admission and registration staff to ensure that the instruction is properly carried out in all units.
The university also wished students a Merry Christmas, but reminded them to make registration a priority before fully enjoying the celebrations.
