Modibbo Adama University, Yola has officially shared its approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session. The calendar was released by the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance to guide students and staff throughout the school year.
The calendar clearly shows important dates such as when students will return to campus, when lectures will begin and end, and when examinations will be held. It is arranged in simple sections to make it easy to read and understand.
Both the first and second semesters are included. The schedule also highlights periods for course registration, lecture weeks, examinations, school breaks, and the processing of results.
First Semester Activities
- The first semester of the 2025/2026 academic session will begin on Friday, 2 January 2026, when students are expected to resume on campus.
- From Monday, 5 January to Saturday, 17 January 2026, students will carry out their normal registration. This registration period will last for two weeks.
- Students who are unable to complete their registration within the normal period will still have another chance during the late registration window, which will run from Monday, 19 January to Saturday, 31 January 2026, also lasting two weeks.
The university has also scheduled its convocation ceremonies for Thursday, 29 January to Saturday, 31 January 2026, a three-day event.
Lectures for the first semester will begin on Monday, 19 January and continue until Saturday, 2 May 2026. This teaching period will last for fifteen weeks, during which students are expected to attend classes and complete coursework.
First semester examinations will take place from Monday, 4 May to Saturday, 23 May 2026, lasting three weeks.
After the exams, students will go on a mid-session break from Monday, 25 May to Saturday, 6 June 2026. This break will last for two weeks and give students time to rest before the second semester begins.
Second Semester Activities
- Registration for the second semester will start on Monday, 8 June and end on Saturday, 20 June 2026. This registration period will last for two weeks.
- Late registration for the second semester will follow immediately and will run from Monday, 22 June to Saturday, 4 July 2026, also for two weeks.
- Lectures for the second semester will begin on Monday, 22 July and end on Saturday, 3 October 2026. Like the first semester, lectures will last for fifteen weeks.
- Second semester examinations are scheduled to hold from Monday, 5 October to Saturday, 24 October 2026, a period of three weeks.
After exams, marking of scripts and project defence activities will take place from Monday, 26 October to Saturday, 14 November 2026, lasting three weeks.
Results will be uploaded from Monday, 16 November to Saturday, 28 November 2026, within a two-week period.
The sessional break will then begin on Monday, 30 November and run until Saturday, 2 December 2026, lasting five weeks.
Next Academic Session
The university has fixed Monday, 4 January 2027 as the resumption date for the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic session.
Overall, this academic calendar gives students a full picture of the school year. It makes it easier to plan reading time, exams, holidays, and personal activities without confusion.
