The University of Lagos is now accepting applications into its Distance Learning Institute (DLI) for the 2025/2026 academic year. The DLI program allows students to study at their own pace while earning a recognized UNILAG degree. It is suitable for people who need flexible study options.

Admission Requirements
- Applicants must have five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO, or GCE. The results must not be more than two sittings.
- Those applying for Year Two entry must have any of the following: NCE, ND (Lower Credit or above), JUPEB, IJMB, or GCE A’ Level in related subjects.
- Applicants for Year Three entry must have an HND (Lower Credit or above) or a Bachelor’s degree (Third Class or higher). They must also provide proof of NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion.
- People with professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, and similar certificates can also apply for Year Three.
Note:
- Candidates waiting for results are not allowed to apply.
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old by 31 October 2025.
- The program is open to everyone, including persons with learning difficulties.
- Basic computer knowledge is required.
- UTME is not required for UNILAG DLI admission.
How to Apply
The application has two steps.
Step One: JAMB Registration
- Register on the JAMB CAPS portal.
- Pay ₦3,500 to get a JAMB registration number.
Step Two: UNILAG DLI Application
- Visit the UNILAG distance learning portal at applications.unilag.edu.ng/home
- Click on Start Fresh Application.
- Select Distance Learning Institute and fill in your details, including your JAMB number, phone number, and email.
- Pay the ₦20,000 application fee online or print the Remita slip and pay at any bank.
- After payment, return to the portal and continue your application using your payment reference number.
- Complete the form, upload the required documents, submit, and print a copy for your records.
All applications must be completed on or before 31 December 2025.
