The Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (AEFUTHA) has officially announced the commencement of admissions into its College of Nursing Sciences for the 2025/2026 academic session. This presents an opportunity for aspiring nurses to pursue a National Diploma (ND) in Nursing Science at one of Nigeria’s federal teaching hospitals.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the ND Nursing program, applicants must:
- Age Requirement: Be at least 16 years old by June 2025.
- Academic Qualifications: Possess five (5) credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology from WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, obtained in not more than two sittings. Note: Only NABTEB results can be combined with NABTEB; mixing with WAEC or NECO is not accepted.
- UTME Score: Achieve a minimum score of 150 in the 2025 JAMB UTME.
- Institution Selection: Choose AEFUTHA College of Nursing as the preferred institution during JAMB registration. If not initially selected, candidates must apply for a change of institution through JAMB.
- Documentation: Present a colored printout of the JAMB exam photo card at the screening venue.

- Payment: Pay the non-refundable application fee via the Remita platform.

- Complete Registration: Log back into the portal to complete your registration and print the examination slip, which contains details of the examination date, venue, and other important information.
