MAUTECH Postgraduate Admission Form, 2025/2026

Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola, invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for its postgraduate programs for the 2025/2026 academic session. The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) offers a diverse range of programs, including Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD), Master’s degrees, Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) across various disciplines.

Admission Requirements

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

Applicants must possess one of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (Third Class or above) from MAUTECH or any recognized university.
  • A Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least Lower Credit (CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale) in a relevant discipline.
  • Other professional qualifications deemed acceptable by the university’s board.

Note: Some departments may require additional tests or interviews.

Master’s Degree

Candidates should have:

  • A first degree (Second Class Honours or higher) in a relevant subject.
  • A PGD (Lower Credit or better) if the first degree was Third Class or an HND.
  • Possibility of a qualifying examination, depending on the course.
Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)

Applicants need:

  • A Master’s degree with at least a 3.0 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 50% Weighted Average Mark (WAM).
  • Some departments may require a qualifying examination.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

For direct Ph.D. entry:

  • A Master’s degree with a CGPA of 3.50 or above.
  • M.Phil. holders with the same CGPA may also apply.
  • Degrees must be from recognized universities.

General Admission Requirements

  • At least five relevant subjects at credit level, including English and Mathematics.
  • For degrees obtained before 2004, a pass in Mathematics or English may be acceptable.
  • Departments may conduct additional tests before final approval.

Program Duration

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
  • Full-Time: Minimum of 2 semesters; Maximum of 4 semesters.
Master’s Degree
  • Full-Time: Minimum of 3 semesters (18 months); Maximum of 6 semesters (36 months).
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
  • Full-Time: Minimum of 6 semesters (36 months); Maximum of 10 semesters (60 months).

Application Procedure

    • Use the registered email or mobile number to obtain an application PIN for ₦15,000.
  3. Fill and Submit Application:
    • Log in to your candidate account, complete the online application form for your chosen program, and submit. Ensure all information is accurate before submission.
  4. Upload Required Documents:
    • Recent passport photograph (JPEG format, not more than 50kb).
    • O’Level results (not more than two sittings).
    • Post-secondary education records, including institution names, class of degree/diploma, and statements of result.
    • Centre number and exam number for all results entered.
  5. Transcript Submission:
    • Fill the online Transcript Request Form and send it to your previous institutions. Ensure timely submission to avoid delays in the admission process.
