National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2025 Batch ‘C Orientation Course

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the Orientation Course for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ set of corps members. This program is the first step for every new graduate who has been called up to serve the nation for one full year. The Orientation Course helps prepare young people for life in their assigned states and teaches them what to expect during their service year.

What the Orientation Course Is About

The Orientation Course usually lasts for about three weeks. During this period, new corps members stay inside the NYSC camp in their designated state. The goal is simple: to help them understand the rules of the service year, build discipline, learn teamwork, and meet other young Nigerians. The schedule for the Batch ‘C’ Orientation is shown below;

  • Camp Opens: Wednesday, 19 November 2025
  • Registration: Wednesday,19 to midnight of Friday, 21 November 2025
  • Swearing-In Ceremony: Friday, 21 November 2025
  • Camp Closes: Tuesday, 9 December 2025
What Prospective Corps Members Should Do

Do not wait until the night before camp to start packing. Preparing early will save you a lot of stress.

  • Print Your Call-Up Letter. Download it from the NYSC portal. This is your entry pass into camp. Without it, you cannot enter.
  • Look at the full list of registration items so you don’t forget something small but important.
  • Confirm your posting and check the correct camp address. Make sure you are travelling to the right state. Carry only what you need, but carry the right things.

Basic Items to Pack

  • Your Call-Up Letter and one photocopy
  • Original school certificates with photocopies
  • Passport photographs
  • A valid ID
  • Clothes and simple personal items for daily use in camp

For Foreign-Trained Graduates

Your requirements are stricter. Bring your international passport and every original document. If you are not sure, pack the document anyway. It is better to be overprepared.

What to Expect in Camp

Life inside the camp is structured. You wake up early, join other corps members for morning drills, attend lectures, learn new skills, and take part in different camp events. The environment may feel challenging at first, but many people soon get used to the routine and even enjoy it.

Corps members also meet people from different backgrounds, cultures, and parts of Nigeria. For many, this becomes one of the most memorable parts of their service year.

Special Notes

Married, Pregnant, or Nursing Mothers:
If NYSC posts you far from your husband’s state, you can report to the closest camp near him. Bring your marriage certificate or medical papers to show proof.

Polytechnic Graduates:
You must come with your ND certificate. Without it, you may have problems at the gate.

Avoiding Trouble
  • NYSC takes documentation seriously. Do not use fake papers. The punishment is very serious.
  • If your Call-Up Letter gets lost, follow the official NYSC steps to replace it.
  • Read your call-up letter carefully. Every instruction is important. Ignoring a line can cause major issues.
  • Missing camp, running from service, or using false documents can lead to legal trouble.

The NYSC orientation camp can be demanding, fun, and sometimes chaotic. But it is the beginning of a new experience. Going in prepared is much better than rushing at the last minute.

After the Orientation Course

Once the Orientation Course ends, corps members are posted to their Places of Primary Assignment (PPA). This could be a school, office, health center, or organization, depending on their discipline and the needs of the state.

They will continue their service there while also taking part in community development activities.
