Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has announced that its course registration portal has been reopened for the 2025/2026 academic session. The information was shared through an internal memo released by the Office of the Registrar and dated January 12, 2026.

The university explained that the reopening of the portal was approved by the Vice-Chancellor to give students another chance to complete their course registration for the session.

Duration of the Registration Window

According to the memo, the course registration portal will remain open for two weeks. The registration period will start on Monday, January 12, 2026, and end on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Students are expected to complete all their course registrations within this period to avoid any issues later in the semester.

Late Registration and Penalty Period
  • The late registration period will run from Monday, January 26, 2026, to Thursday, February 12, 2026.
  • During this time, affected students can still register, but only after paying the required penalty.
  • The university also stated that students who fail to register within the approved registration window will be required to pay a late registration penalty.
Final Closure of the Portal

UNIZIK made it clear that the course registration portal will be permanently closed for first semester registration on Friday, February 13, 2026. After this date, no further registration will be allowed for the first semester.

The university explained that reopening the portal is part of its effort to ensure proper planning ahead of the first semester examinations, which are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 2, 2026. Completing course registration on time helps the university prepare examination schedules and other academic activities.

UNIZIK advised all concerned students to make good use of this opportunity and complete their course registration as soon as possible. The university stressed that timely course registration is an important academic requirement, and students are expected to comply without delay.
