Plateau State University (PLASU) Announces NELFUND Student Loan Application for 2026

The Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has formally announced the commencement of the application process for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the 2026 academic cycle. This announcement was made through an internal memorandum circulated to the entire student body and duly signed by the Director of ICT, Mr. Sati Satmwa Dapel.

According to the memo, the NELFUND application portal is now fully active and accessible to eligible students of the university. The portal will remain open until January 31, 2026, giving students a four-week period to complete and submit their applications. Students who wish to benefit from the education loan scheme are advised to apply early to avoid last-minute technical challenges. Applications are to be submitted exclusively through the official NELFUND website at https://nelf.gov.ng/.

In a bid to ensure transparency and ease of access, the university has also provided a special verification link https://bit.ly/NELFUND-PLASU**—through which students can confirm their eligibility status before proceeding with the application. For convenience, a QR code has been attached to the memo to allow quick and easy access to the eligibility verification page using mobile devices.

The university management strongly encourages all students who meet the eligibility requirements to take full advantage of this opportunity, as the loan scheme is designed to ease financial burdens and support students in achieving their academic goals. The memo emphasizes that this initiative aligns with PLASU’s commitment to promoting equal access to education and supporting student success.

To further assist students, the ICT Directorate has made provisions to offer technical guidance and support throughout the application process. Students who experience difficulties while applying or who have questions regarding the loan scheme are advised to visit the ICT Directorate office for in-person assistance. Alternatively, they may contact Mr. Paul Azi directly on 08034567716 for prompt support.

The announcement concludes by reaffirming the university’s vision of “Building a SMART CAMPUS,” highlighting that initiatives such as the NELFUND application support system are part of PLASU’s broader strategy to leverage technology and support services to improve learning outcomes and expand educational opportunities for its students.
