Federal Polytechnic Ilaro Extends Service Charges Payment Deadline 2026 for Newly Admitted Students

The Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, has approved a final extension for the payment of approved service charges by newly admitted students. This decision was communicated in an internal memorandum issued by the Registrar and dated 5th January, 2026.

In the memo, Management made reference to an earlier circular dated 17th December, 2025, which had cautioned newly admitted students about the consequences of failing to pay the required service charges within the stipulated timeframe. Although the initial deadline was set for 31st December, 2025, Management observed that compliance among some students remained unsatisfactory.

In view of the recent release of an additional admission list (Third Admission List) for ND Full-Time and ND Part-Time programs, Management has, in the spirit of fairness, approved a final extension of the payment deadline to Friday, 30th January, 2026. This extension is intended to give candidates whose names appear on the forthcoming admission list adequate time to meet the payment requirement.

However, the Polytechnic clearly stated that this extension applies strictly to newly admitted students on the upcoming admission list. Students who were offered admission earlier but failed, refused, or neglected to pay the approved service charges before the initial deadline should note that the extension does not apply to them. Such students stand the risk of losing their admission, as their slots will be reassigned to candidates on the Third Admission List.

Furthermore, all returning students have been directed to ensure that their approved service charges are fully paid on or before Friday, 30th January, 2026, as the institution prepares for Continuous Assessments and semester examinations. Any student who fails to comply will be subjected to appropriate disciplinary measures.

Management also issued a strong warning that any student whether newly admitted or returning who fails to pay the approved service charges will be denied access to all Polytechnic facilities and services. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Lecture halls and participation in lectures
  • Medical services
  • Library facilities
  • Laboratories and workshops
  • Examinations and other academic activities
  • Any other Polytechnic facility or service

The memo emphasized that no student will be permitted to take part in any academic or non-academic activity without proof of full payment of the approved charges. Management further stressed that no appeal or request for an additional extension will be considered after 30th January, 2026.

Students are therefore strongly advised to comply promptly with this directive to avoid any action that could negatively affect their studentship.
