Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Africa and the Mastercard Foundation are working together to help students who have talent but lack the money to support their education. Students in the Carnegie Mellon University-Africa Mastercard Foundation Scholars program earn a Master of Science degree in Information Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Engineering Artificial Intelligence.
After finishing their studies, these Scholars will help create positive change in their communities and make a difference across the continent.

Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, students must show:
- Academic talent: Scholars enjoy learning and are determined to finish their education.

- Potential to lead: Scholars will be role models, mentors, and change-makers.
To apply for the Scholars Program, students must first be accepted into one of CMU-Africa’s degree programs.
How to Apply
To apply for the CMU Mastercard Scholarship, follow these two steps:
- First, fill out the online application for one of the following master’s programs: Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (MS ECE), or Master of Science in Engineering Artificial Intelligence (MS EAI).
- If you apply by December 15, your test fees will be paid for. You can still apply until January 15; that’s the last day.
- You will need to take some competency tests.
