Umeå University is now accepting applications for its 2026 Scholarship Program for international students. The scholarships are open to academically strong and high-performing students from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who wish to study at the university.
The scholarships are awarded alongside admission offers for the Autumn 2026 semester and are provided as full or partial tuition fee waivers. They are available to students applying for full-time Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs at Umeå University. Selection is based strictly on academic merit, and successful candidates are chosen by scholarship committees within each faculty.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Umeå University Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland
- Apply for a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s program at Umeå University by January 15, 2026
- Complete the program application and pay the application fee by February 3, 2026
- List Umeå University as first choice (Priority 1) on University Admissions by January 15, 2026
- Second-year Master’s students at Umeå University who are continuing their studies are also eligible to apply
How to Apply
Interested and qualified applicants should follow these steps:
- Apply for a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s program at Umeå University through University Admissions by January 15, 2026.
- Pay the required application fee no later than February 3, 2026.
- Wait for an email invitation from Umeå University to register interest in the scholarship.
- Follow the instructions in the email and complete the scholarship registration before the stated deadline.
